We went on with the story of Megan, who is on a journey and she gets better and better at something with each actuation of the journey.
This makes us solve problems and create things.
For example a convertible matchbox car. Literally.
This is how to make a matchbox car, that is a car out of a matchbox.
You will need
Step 1
Take an empty matchbox.
Step 2
Spread glue all over the box. Cover it with coloured paper and then another layer, but make sure that you don't cover the sides.
Step 3
Cut a gate shape on the top of it so that there is space for your people to sit in.
For the windshield, fold one of those wings facing up, the other one down.
Step 4
Cut the wheels out of cardboard and stick them on the car with glue.
Tip: You could draw a little windshield and some other things on it with markers.
We also had to design and make the scenes.
We described the character and the background of the Pumpkin Sisters.
Somehow, entirely out of context a magic trick came up at the very end of the lesson, involving tying a knot. Not that knot!

My attempt to discuss the cultural differences between Eater here and in he UK, we ended up solving fun and tricky math questions, here's a great blog with a lot of them:
http://dailybrainteaser.blogspot.hu/search/label/Trick%20Teasers?refer=self
These questions reminded me of magic tricks, which often use the same principles as tricky maths questions: some weaknesses of our thinking, our lack of critical thinking or rather the fact that we over generalize things and fail to pay attention to detail:

We also found this old book:
It is written in a language that seems to be a cool resource for further exploitation :)

Lesson three
We reviewed Megan. She is smart and really nosy. Her favourite thing to do is to dance but she is not really good at it. (She has got a dog too.)
Barbi had some further questions and Lili answered them.
Lili made cartoons with the words obnoxious and furious.
We mentioned some differences between American and British pronunciation.
We had a brainstorming session about Megan.
We rehearsed the story.
